Yay, I just bought two Diana F+ cameras and another analog camera on ebay, as a set. It was really cheap, even for used ones. One camera for a little more than 10€ and then shipping costs too of course.

So a used Diana for 13€. Not bad, hm?

Monday was on of those days where I just had eat to ice cream, I was so stressed and busy with university that I needed to relax for a while. The flavour was tiramisu, yummy!

This is dinner which I made on wednesday. It´s cauliflower refined in egg, is maybe sounding strange but tastes good.

On thursday did I watch a few episodes of "Murder she wrote", while I worked on my presentation about inheritance law.

My roommate baked a browniecake, with minced almonds. We had it in the brake of our studying marathon for todays exam. It was really good.

Prüfungszeit.

Es ist wieder so weit: die Prüfungszeit ist mitten im Gange und ich bin im Lernstress. So wie wohl jeder andere Student, wenn das Semester so langsam dem Ende entgegen geht.

Dieses Semester ist es allerdings etwas anders, weil die meisten Prüfungen aus Referaten bestanden und ich deshalb nicht so viel lernen musste wie sonst. Heute Nachmittag musste ich aber noch mal ran, genauso morgen.

Denn am Monatg steht die wohl umfangreichste Klausur des Semesters an und aufgrund von diversen Referaten und anderen Klausuren habe ich das Lernen für diese immer weiter nach hinten geschoben. Den Panikknopf drücke ich aber noch nicht.

Trotzdem finde ich noch die Zeit unnütze Fotos zu machen.

Once again it´s time to write the exams which wait for me at the end of every semester. I had more presentations this time than during the last semesters, which means I had to study less. But an important exam is taking place on monday and I didn´t really find the time to study for it during the last weeks, because I had so many other things to do and to prepare.

my favourites - vegetables

I´m a vegetarian and this means that I don´t eat meat, products which contain gelatin or animal fat. No fish too.

This why I have to get nutrients which mostly are in meat or fish from somewhere else. Many people criticise this way of eating, actually it´s more a way of life, because it must be unhealthy and so on. But actually, when you know what you´re doing, it´s not.

So, as I love vegetables, here are my five favourtie ones:

Of course do I love most other vegetables as well, but that´s always the problem when only 5 can make into a list.

Today it finally arrived: the TokyoDreamer Camera Strap! Yay, I was so excited .

There was a little stow-away-asaurus in the package too.

The strap has such a wonderfull colour, it´s called Berry Red. Sky Blue and Butter Bronze were available as well.

There is a little bag which can be attached to the strap, I can put little things in there or take the bag off when I want to.

The strap is made of vegan material, which is cool since I´m a vegetarian and pro animal rights. The old strap is resting in the box now.

Today did I spent the afternoon with redesigning a dress. I´ve never done thise before and I don´t think have finished the project yet. But until now the result is looking good.

So far did I cut off the skirt, resewed it to the top and made the skirt shorter afterwards.
I guess will I do smth with the sleeves. I don´t like them this way. And I want to take some volume out of the back.

I love this dress from H&M, I just wish it came in other colours too.

The H&M onlineshop is especially dangerous for my financials, because I don´t have to go anywhere and can just scroll and click and think and decide and change my mind and order anyway. Everything can still be returned, right?

I ordered two dresses, a bracelett and a pair of high heels today. I finally want to learn how to walk on heels properly and the ones I ordered will be the ones I´ll pratice with. Maybe there are some how-to´s on youtube?

I´m still waiting for a vintage dress to arrive. I usually don´t order vintageclothing online, because it is always so difficult with the sizes and so on. But the seller wore the dress in the pictures and she has a figure like I have. And I have a sewing machine, so it won´t be a big problem if it doesn´t fit well.

On monday did I visit my friend Bahar and we had dinner together, Bahar is so good in keeping together our circle of friends. She invites us to dinner or for coffee and cake we all try to make some room in our calenders for those meetings.

This is part of my outfit for the black and white mafiaparty me and Bahar were hosting last wednesday. A few white accessoires are missing on the picture, I had the most fabulous white feather boa. I cheated with red lipstick though.

I found my-shirt! It disappeared under mystical circumstances and we had already started to make up conspiracy theories. It slipped behind a drawer of my closet and I found it when i looked there with a flashlight.

It hailed and someone drew a heart on the walkway.

potato wedges

Potato wedges are super easy to make and we often have them on the weekends, when we all have free and some time to cook.

What you´ll need:
- potatoes, as many as you´d like
- oil
- herbs and spices
- salt and pepper

If the potatoes have a thin paring, you don´t have to peel them. But you should wash them, maybe even scrub them. If they have a thick paring, I would peel them.

Cut the potatoes in quaters and put them on a baking sheet.

Now take out a little bowl and pour some oil in it. Add salt, pepper and all the spices and herbs you want to use. I used garlic powder, paprika and some fresh herbs.

Pur the mixture over the potatoes.

Now take two spoons or salad servers, something you can use to mix the oil and the potatoes.

Disperse the poatoes on the sheet, in a way that no potato lies over another. Now pop the sheet in the oven.

Experience shows that the potatoes usually need one hour, 180°C in a convection oven. Check from time to time and turn them over once or twice. But be carefull, the oil is hot.

In the meantime you have a lot of time to prepare whatever you want to have with the potatoes.

Most things turn out good in the end. The camera strap-PayPal thing did too.

The money was finally transfered to my account and forwarded to photojojo. Then I got a mail, which confirmed my order and now the TokyoDreamer Strap is on it´s way to me.

There even was enough money left to allow me ordering a vintage dress on Ebay, which I´m planning on to redesign.

I love glitter on my nails and this why I couldn´t resist when I saw a glitter topping from essence in the store.

It´s called circus confetti and the name matches the topping really well.

The used clear liquor for a first coat, so that the glitter would stay on longer.

The best dishes are usually the ones you create without any recipe at all. If you have some knowledge and experience, many tasty dishes can be created with only the things you have at home.

Today did I make smth which I would describe as a close relative to the pancake. The ingredients are

- 1 egg

- some milk

- 2 or 3 spoons of flour

- and some oil.

Maybe you want to have smth else with the close relative to the pancake, may it be salty or sweet. Then you´ll need that too.

Ok, so mix all the ingredients in a little bowl - it is a quiet liquid texture. The texture can be regulated with the milk, but don´t take too much.

Then you´ll take a small pan, if you have that. If not, a usual one will do it. I used a little one we once bought at IKEA. a small pan for a thick pancake

Pour some oil in the pan, wait until it´s hot and then add the dough.

The temperature should be medium, because if it´s too warm the close relative to the pancake might get dark or even burn.

Now let the pancake cook, until it starts to bubble and the face becomes firm.

That would be it. If everything went right you´ll have smth like a pancake, but it´s not really a pancake. Tastes too much like egg. It´s not really an omelette either.

Why are there peas on the pancake? Because I love peas. I had salt, paprika and garlic powder in the dough. The peas were precooked.

I turned the pancake, with the hekp of a plate, to brown it from both sides. With a plate, because it´s very fragile and I didn´t want to destroy it.

To start with, did I choose the blog "a cleaner closet" from a blogger who chose to stay anonymous. It´s a tough deciciosn to show your face online, I feel like that myself. But just because we can´t see any face, it doesn´t mean there is nothing to see at all.

A cleaner closet gives you inspiration, when it comes to redesigning your clothes. Definitely smth for all those who are after some easy diy tricks and tips.

You have an old sweater which is too big and you don´t use it anymore? Well, maybe you will when you followed a tutorial from this blog.

The author of the blog is currently living in Spain and teaches Spanish there, if I got it right.

The blog was started in July of 2011, which means it is quiet a new one. But it already has a lot of followers, which is cool for a new blogger and speaks for the blog itself.

I finally ordered the camera strap and payed with PayPal, but it´s causing nothing but problems. The problem is PayPal, they seemed to have cancelled the order/transaction or something.

I found this out when I contacted photojojo, they have been super nice so far and it seems that they really want to make their customers happy.

Then did I contact PayPal, I wrote them a mail and hope to get an answer from them soon.

Worst case scenario: My money is with the wind and will never come back, because it got stuck somewhere in the PayPal marshes.

Good case scenario: The money will be transfered to my PayPal account and I can just send it back to my bank account. Then I can place a new order.

Best case scenario: The people over at PayPal will realise that there was a mistake when they read my mail and fix it, so that the money arrives at photojojo and the order I made can be mailed to me.

And here we go again: Problems nobody needs, but we get them anyway.

I love thriftstores and I love to look after dresses. So, by now I have a few and I took pictures of some of them today.

Even before my interest for fashion started, did I love bags. I have tons of them, expensive ones, cheap ones, little ones, big ones... At one point did my mother try to stop me from buying and sewing bags, because they started to take control over my bedroom.
The passion is stil there, but I try to buy only special ones or models which I don´t have yet. Or bags which are from an exclusive brand and reduced, or bags...

Shoes are a must if I want to walk through daily life safely. Now am I a Vans phase, I´ve been wearing different pairs for a few years now. Before that, when I was in my rockchic phase, I only wore chucks. For the winter do I have two lined pairs of boots, one is a cognac couloured leather pair and the other one is made from grey leather.
When I go out do I wear ballerina flats or high heels, depends on where I go and for how long I stay there.
I´m jealous of women who where high heels on a daily basis. I could never do that.

Today did I distract myself from studying and creating a PP, so I made a new background for this blog with my image editing program.

I have three exams and two presentations coming up. I don´t really have to study for two of the exams, since they are in my englishclasses. I´m better than the level of difficulty in the class is. Good thing.

To begin with my reborn diy-delight, did I make a bow. It is super easy to make. All you need is some fabric, a needle, scissors and yarn. If you want attach your bow to a hair tie or a barrette, you will need this too. It is a nice idea for gift decoration as well.

Now follow the steps Elsie Larson shows on her blog "a beautiful mess". This is one great blog, by the way.

Now, if you want to attach a hair tie, I recommend to put it into the loop before you before you stitch it. Maybe you have to use a little more fabric for the loop then.

Then put the loop on the bow and make some more stitches, so that the loop is attached to the bow together with the hair tie. It gives the hair tie more stability.

When you want to attach it to a barrette, then it depends on what kind of barrette it is. Maybe you´ll need glue or a hot-melt gun. You can get barrettes for your own designs in craft stores or on ebay.

I might soon jump back on the diy-train. When was still in school did I spend many hours by making jewellery and sewing bags and so on.

I even brought my sewingmachine to my flat, so I could sew something. I never did. But now did I start getting serveral ideas for projects I´d like to realize and one is making a cape. Not a superhero cape, but a cape which could work as a coat.

I started googling for patterns and found that there are even videos on youtube, which show how to make a cape. Like the one in the video below.

I think I might go for a similar cut, but I plan on using coat fabric.

My other plan is to sew a bag, though I have special ideas about how the fabric should look and feel like and do not now how soon I might find it.

Not only Scandinavia has to struggle with bad weather, here in front of my window some storm is going on right now. Well, no roofs or trees flying through the air, but uncomfortable anyway.

It rained a lot during the last days and the little river near my house might soon flood.

My kitchen is a "turn around and face the wall"- type of a kitchen. It´s tiny and it´s dark in there, especially during the winter. I don´t know when it was installed, but it´s definitely time to renovate it.

The fusebox and the water meter were hid behind a brown, ugly curtain. It made it only worse, I don´t know how people even could put it there.

I replaced it with a white shower curtain, to somehow make a change and it helped.

I still can´t create a kitchen feast in there. No work discs, only a "put the used dishes here"- disc. Which is the place for the coffeemachine and the water boiler as well.

I will choose my next flat after the kitchen, the condition of the bathroom and wether or not there is something like insulation existing - the whole place turned out to be a mess.

I´m so glad I can leave this flat next fall.

In the part of Germany where I am from is it a tradition to have doughnuts on the first of January. They are usually filled with strawberry jam and covered with sugar icing or confectioner´s sugar.

In the last years some variations were created, with pudding as a filling or chocolate as a glazing.

I still prefer the ones with strawberry jam and sugar icing.

They are called "Berliner", while people from Berlin call them "Pfannkuchen" (pancakes).

We just went food shopping for tonight and I´m so happy that my sister will come as well.

November was cold. And rainy.

So I went to see "Tintin" at the local movie theater and I really liked it.

I had to do so much with the university and even failed in a presentation. This never happened before.

I got my hair coloured red and this was a highlight for me in November.

The first entry in my series about my favoutite things started with my favourite tv series.

"Somebody I used to know" became my favourite song of the moment.

December

In December did I start with a retrospection of 2011, it was nice to remember all the things I´ve done this year. It still doesn´t feel like 365 days since the last New Years Eve.

I shared my recipe for an easy and quick to make spagetti salad.

And I bought some new nail polish. The colour is called "Marilyn and I".

Now am I back in my flat, I will go to a dinner party tomorrow. Since NewYear´s Eve is highly overrated, did me and some of my friends decide to have a simple dinner party, where we eat good food, play some games and drink wine.

Yay, christmas is finally here. If I´d taken my advent calender with me, I´d been able to open the last wicket. But I didn´t. I will when I´m back in my flat.

I am at home, with my family and we just decorated the tree. This christmas is going to be a little different from the other ones, for example did we choose a new position for the tree and we won´t go to a christmas service because of my father´s health. We went to one yesterday instead.

We baked lots of christmascookies, like every year. I made some with my sister when we were still in my flat and she stayed with me for a night.

Yesterday did I buy two new bottles of nail polish. One colour is called "Marilyn and I", it´s a darker cherry red with glitter in it and it´s just perfect for christmas.
Unfortunately the colour and the glitter aren´t that good reflected on the picture, but it´s really nice.

My roommate gave me a gift. A really nice plate, which she bought because she thought of me when she saw it in a store.

I discovered the singer Lana del Rey for myself, she is famous already and her first album isn´t even published.

I wrote an assignment and sometimes did I really have problems with motivating myself to do it. I finally finished it and handed it in. I got the grade a few days ago, not as good as I expected and I am a little mad at the lecturor.

I counted the days until I could hand the assignment in on my calender. I was ready one day before the deadline.

Then it was time to finally get into the plane and I traveled to Stockholm with my sister.

We went to Uppsala as well and visited my sisters friend, who studies there.

I bought a new cup which I just love.

And I learned how to knit.

Me and my sister went to a Vodou-exebition,

We had yummy scones for tea, I made them 3 or 4 times during October.

And I finished my first pair of socks, yay!

The new semester started in the middle of October, number 5 out of 6. It was really stressfull in the beginning because I had so many meetings and a demonstration to organize and so on.

Now am I at home, with my family. I helped my mother with the christmasshopping today, we bought lots of food for the holidays.

The weather in the beginning of July was terrible and this why I bought myself something to cheer me up.

We had flowers in the living room, to at least create the feeling of summer...a little bit.

Then strange things happened, which in the end lead to a lost friend and so many discussions and arguments. It made me want to disappear.

And it was the night of the nights (in July) when me and my friends went to the cinema! The reason: the premiere of the last Harry Potter-movie! We had tickets for the showing of part 7.1 and 7.2 afterwards, it was great.

I started to watch the first season of "The Big Bang Theory"!

My roomie Vanessa celebrated her birthday and I wrote the semester´s exams. I did quite well.

August

In August did i travel to Sweden, one day after my last exam.

When I came back did my parents invite me and my sister to visit them in Danmark, where they were on vacation. So we started a little roadtrip and stayed near Skagen for a few days.

I had an oral exam examination a few days after I was back home and was really nervous. But it all went well.

When my report for the same lecturor was finished, did me and my sister book a flight to Stockholm for September.

Me and my roomies went to the cinema and watched "Captain America".

What you need:Spaghetti - some water and oil - salt, pepper, italian herbs - a pack of feta with whey- tomatoes

What to do:
1. Cook the spaghettis
2. Let them cool down
3. Mix some oil and water, add salt, pepper and some italian herbs
4. take the feta (save the whey), cut it into little pieces
5. mix spaghettis, feta, dressing and whey

6. wash the tomatoes
7. cut them into little pieces
8. add them to the spaghetti and mix everything

9. DONE!

I made birdies for our living room window.

Then did I celebrate my birthday with my friends. We had margaritas and lots of good food. I enjoyed it, but on the next day...hello hangover. I felt terrible, but had to attend a meeting where I had to travel by train.

And suddenly, May was over.

In the middle of the year did I buy winterboots. And now I can finally wear them.

And I bought a fantastic new dress, which I just love.

My friend Anna sent me a birthday card which arrived too late and damaged.

My friends and I spent a nice day in Bremen.

I made plans for the summer, where I wanted to travel and what else I wanted to do. I still do not know when Stockholm came in. Must have been a very sponatneous decision.

Today did I stumble over "Le corps mince de Françoise". I think it means something like "The thin body of Françoise".

However, it´s the name of a band. Two sisters from Finland who currently live in Berlin and make music together.

March and April

March

I did the internship during the whole month of March, I went there by train every day and read Agatha Christie-books and listened to music while I was on the train. So, I did not only work 8 hours each day, the two hours in the train stole the rest of my free time.

That´s when I discovered Kakkmaddafakka, a norwegian band.

My headphones broke one day and it really upset me because I´ve only had them for three month. And Tchibo, where I bought them, didn´t want to do anything about it.

I created a new dish.

And I went to the zoo with my sister.

April

Out of the internship, in into a new semester. A 1000 things to do at the same time, but somehow I managed it all.

I don´t remember much from April, only that is was quite warm and that easter was later than last year.

My sister travelled to Amsterdam with her boyfriend and when she came back, she gave me a fantastic gift. A fairy cake ring.

William and Kate got married in the end of April.

Today´s shock of my life.

Today did it sit in the students café and planned what to do when during the next weeks. I got a cup of coffee and when I packed my things, because I wanted to go to my tuesday´s englishclass, I got today´s shock of my life.

Everything was there, but where was my iPod? Not there. I called my friend and asked her to ask someone from the cafeteriateam, wether it had been found. I went to the library and asked there. I asked at the university´s lost-proberty office. No one had seen it or heard of it being found.

So I called my roommate, who was at home. It was my last chance. And where was it? On my desk chair.

I always panic when I loose important things. Like my keys when I´m about to leave home. Or my mobile phone when I pack my bag for the next day. I´m glad that my roomies understand and often know where smth is or help me looking for it. When I ring my phone they only say "Oh, Malina is ringing her phone." and laugh.

I already formed the habit to take a last look at the place where I sat, so won´t forget or loose anything. Maybe I should learn to remember where I put smth. :)

January and February

It´s strange somehow... 2011 is coming to an end and it went by so fast. Last years NewYearParty is stil in my mind as if it was yesterday that I made a salad for the bring-and-share buffet.
Let´s see how 2011 was for me.

January

In the beginning of January did I open a new bankaccount, so I could finally transfer money much easier. January was an alcohol free month for me, as this was my new year´s resolution. This month is always full with exams, was just the same this year.

Robyn published a new video and I was so excited for the new album to get in stores.

The coffee machine broke when I needed it the most and I had dinner with my friends.
We had jelly for dessert.

January the 31st is my roommates birthday, of course did we celebrate it.

February

Prague, the golden city, that´s were I went right in the beginning of February.

I loved it there. The weather was perfect, the first nice days in the spring of 2011. I went to the opera with my host, my good friend Anna, and had a lots of fun partying during the nights.

When I came back, my internship at a day-care centre began. I worked there for 6 weeks. It was stressfull, but I liked it there. The experience, to work with children in the age from 2-6, made me even more confident about that my universitystudies are the best thing for me and my future profession.

So, January and February consisted mostly of studying and working. I really enjoyed the trip to Prague and am still glad that I got the oportunity to go there and stay with my friend.

Yesterday did I spent about one hour and 40 minutes in my hometown. I took a train to go there, because I had a meeting at my future traineeship office, where I will be training for 6 weeks next year.

The first train I had to take was 10 minutes late, but that wouldn´t have been a problem. The problem was that the second train was late. This prevented that I could catch the last train. I called my father, while I sat in the second train and asked him wether he could look up the telephone number of the office. He offered to come to the train station and pick me up.

He did so and I was at the appointment in time. I talked with the man for half an hour and he signed my form. Now I can hand it in at university. Yay!

When I waited for my father, to pick me up, I stood in the entry hall of the train station. A young man was there and I wondered what there was strange about me (or him), because he kept staring at me and followed me when I went outside to see wether my father was already there.

I stood by the door and when he didn´t stop staring I went back inside. Suddenly I heard someone saying "Hello there!" behind me and wondered if it was adressed to me. I turned around and it was this guy. He held up a picture, printed out in black and white, with a woman on it. He asked me "Are you her? I mean, do you know this person or do you come from this area?". I simply said "No" and he walked away.

The thing is that I had the hood from my jacket on all the time and a big scarf around my neck, which hid my mouth. He probably thought I was his online date or whatever and that I didn´t recognise him, or didn´t want to recognise him or whatever.

And this explains why he kept starring at me. He wondered wether I was this woman and couldn´t see my face properly. Stil strange

2nd Advent

Today have I been spending my time with preparing another presentation for university and cooking delicious food. Amongst other dishes did I make baked apples, filled with almond paste and strawberry jam. That´s how my mother uses to make them.

We had vanilla sauce with it, it was sooo good.

My mother sent me an Advent calender, it is card with 24 wickets. Behind every wicket is a little picture. I have one with chocolates as well, my roommate gave it to me.

I´m thinking about christmas presents, which I can give to my family and friends but I have only few ideas. My wish might actually come true: a wonderful, talented camera. So I can take wonderful, quality pictures with a working camera and don´t have to rely on my mobile all the time.

We are having a ball.

To me, music is about feelings and rythm, then lyrics come in and the person/band comes at last. Yes, looks and attitude make an impact as well. But it´s not the most important thing.

Here are five of my favourite musicians, singers and bands. This was kind of hard to choose, because I like so many. There are some which I´ve liked for years and others which might be quite new, but I loved them right away. The ones I chose are the ones I would name at first if someone asked me, who my favourite bands are.

Big Bang

The members of Big Bang are Norwegians, but live in the US. The first song I heard was "Play it louder", it was 2008 and I was in Norway. Bought the album without knowing any other song. Good decision.

Kings of Convenience

This is another norwegian band, consisting of Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bø. Their music is heaven and everytime I listen to them, I can see it all in front of my mind´s eye. The video shows my favourite song in the world in my favourite version. I stumbled over it one day on YouTube and fell in love.

P!nk
This woman is kick ass. I have all her albums in my shelf. Many female musicians seem to be so fake these days, but she always appeared to be real. That´s why I like her.

He wakes up. His mouth is dry and his head is aching. He trys to lift his head but he can´t. His mind is too heavy.

The curtains aren´t closed and the dark fills the room, he doesn´t know what time it is. During winter he never knows for sure. He dozes until the headache makes him feel like his head is going to explode.

Slowly he gets up and sits on the bed for a while. He looks around. The clock on the tv sais "06:24" - only 33 minutes until the store opens. He won´t make it and lies down on his bed once more.

Gets up again. "08:45".

Still dressed with the clothes from the day before, which are the clothes from the day before, he puts his shoes on and looks for his bag.

There is still some money, it will do it. He packs the empty beer bottles anyway. It seems to be cold outside, but he can´t find his gloves. He can´t find anything in this place, his mind is too narrow.

He steps outside the door and closes it.

The staircase is dirty and smells like urin. He got used to it. Or maybe he doesn´t care? It really is cold outside, but it doesn´t matter. He scuffels towards the supermarket. There are some people in the vegetablesection, a young woman is standing in front of the rack filled with fresh buns and bread.

He turns to the left, and then he is there. He chooses the cheapest beer. Two bottles. Walks towards the checkout and puts the empty bottles and the new bottles on the conveyor belt. He takes some of the little hard liqour bottles out of the shelv next to the checkout. He needs to drink something right now.

The young woman is behind him now, she´s putting some buns in a paper bag on the belt and a bottle of mineral water. There is disgust in her eyes. A young man stands behind her. He´s buying beer as well. Far too young, he thinks. This life isn´t fun.

He pays, puts the bottles in his bag and leaves the supermarket. There is a bench in front of the building, he sits down and takes one of the small bottles out of the bag. Takes a sip. Empties it right away.

Slowly the world around him becomes clearer. The headache disappears into the background.

The young woman comes out of the supermarket and locks up her bike. She sees that he is drinking and drives away. He doesn´t feel bad.

He will come back tomorrow.

And to start with, I thought of tv series. Here are my 5 favourite tv series.

Sex and the City

What else could be on the list, if not SatC?

When I was younger, and SatC was on tv on a regular basis, my mother wouldn´t allow me to watch it. Probably because of the sex talk and -scenes.

When I was older and allowed to watch what I wanted to, I discovered that it wasn´t only about sex. But about the kind of friendship only women can have.

This series is famous for the outfits, that are worn by the 4 ladies, which never impressed me this much. Probably because of the fact, that they were already out of date when I started to watch.

But I am, and always will be, jealous of Carrie´s hair.

Gilmore Girls

I am loved the first episode of Gilmore Girls, I loved the second, the third, the fourth and so on. This continues until the last one. Every single episode is fantastic.

There are people who don´t like this series because Lorelai and Rory talk too fast and too much nonsense.
But if you see me and my sister, you understand why this is not a problem for me. ;)

The Nanny

The Nanny. Huh. Don´t you just have to love this trashy person with the annoying voice? Yes, you have to.

The Big Bang Theory

This series is the newest member of my favourite tv series and was recommended to me by a friend, but at that time it wasn´t aired in Germany. Some years later did I find out where I could watch it online and now it´s even on tv.

Season number 5 is not as good the seasons 1-4, but I still love it.

I even created a bag, with "Knock Knock Knock Penny!" on it.

The Avengers

I think I already wrote about The Avengers once or twice on this blog.

The series was filmed in the 60ies and is much better than the crap on tv nowadays.

There is John Steed, an agent for a fictional british secret service, and his assistant. He has four changing assistants during the seasons, all are tough, kick-ass women. My favourite is Emma Peel.

Hver dag sto jeg i kjøkkenet og laget mat. Kanskje frokost til Little Miss Toothgap eller middag til familien. Sammen med Little Miss Toothgap var det aldri kjedelig. Når man er 8 og har AuPair, da finner man jo alltid på noe. Og hvis det er at i dag, ja i dag da vil man ikke ha leverpostei på skiven sin.

Radio sto på og når det kom en sang vi likte, så danset vi gjennom kjøkkenet og stuen.

To ganger, hver uke, dro jeg til Bergen for å gå på språkkurs.

Hver gang jeg satt i bilen, så var radioen også satt på og jeg hørte på musikk og dagens reportasje. Og hvis det kom en sang jeg kunne teksten til, så sang jeg med.

No sitter jeg her i Tyskland, og radio er slått på. Nettradio er det, den eneste måten man kan høre norsk på når man kjenner ingen som snakker det også.

Av og til så kommer det en sang som jeg minner jeg har danset til i stuen. Eller at jeg har hørt den på veg til byen.

Og da savner jeg denne tiden.

Bildung geht uns alle an!

Am 17.11.2011 finden Bundesweit Protestaktionen statt - für bessere Studienbedingungen und gegen Studiengebühren.

Und weil Bildung uns alle angeht, sollte auch jede/r der die Möglichkeit hat an diesem Tag auf die Straße gehen. In vielen Universitätsstädten finden Demos und Kundgebungen statt.

Wir fordern ein reformiertes Bildungssystem, in das investiert wird. Wenn Kinder die Zukunft sind, sollten man ihnen dann nicht mehr Geld zu kommen lassen? Da wäre auf jeden Fall genügend da, wenn man nicht alles den Banken in den Rachen werfen würde oder es für die Bundeswehr ausgäbe.

Institute die nichts mit universitärer Ausbildung am Hut haben, bekommen jeweils jährlich mehr Geld als für alle Bildungseinrichtungen zusammen eingeplant wird.

Wir fordern genügend Lehrkräfte an Schulen und Universitäten, optimale Klassen-, Seminar-, und Kindergartengruppengrößen.

Wir forden dass jeder Mensch, unabhängig von Geschlecht, nationaler Herkunft, Alter und der Höhe der Summe auf dem Bankkonto Zugang zu Bildung bekommt. Sei es Kita, Schule oder Uni.

Eigentlich ist das doch alles gar nicht so schwer. Scheinbar aber doch, denn seit den letzten Protestaktionen 2009 hat sich nicht wirklich was getan.

Darum sollten wir anfangen so richtig zu nerven, bis der Groschen bei den Entscheidungsträgern endlich fällt. Schließlich sollen wir mal deren Rente zahlen.

Ohne eine gute Ausbildung, und die Konsequenzen die diese für den späteren Beruf hat, geht das schlecht...

Today was such a crazy day. At first was there a meeting with the president of our university, she invited members of every student advisory council. I am in two, both for social science and for educational science.

Then did I help to stick bills for our movie event on the campus.

After that did I have a meeting in the library, for a presentation I´ll do with some others. I had dinner with my flatmate aftewards.

I went to the hairdresser spontaneously and got my hair coloured in a nice mahagoninuance.

When I was back home did I have to do some correspondence for one of the student advisory councils.

And now am I going to save the world...or plan a demonstration against tuition fees.

And always be prepared...

Today was the day of my presentation in the law course, which takes place distributed over 4 weekends, and it was so bad. It was my worst presentation ever, I think. No, the bookpresentation in senior class was worse.

Fortunately is the tutor a nice person and she allowed me to try once again in January. I will prepare smth completly different and it will be 100% better, of that I´m sure.

The thing is, I already had a bad feeling about this on wednesday. I should have called it off then right away. I had problems with the literature and the presentation, I was under timepressure and as unmotivated as I´ve never been before in my life I think. I had two weeks to get ready and was ill during the first.

Well, I know what I did wrong and I think it´s therefore that I can handle it this way - not being sad or mad at the tutor. It´s not her fault, it´s mine.

My roommate said, she couldn´t have stayed this calm as I was after the presentation. But there is nothing I can do now, only try again and make it then!

I thought it was about time to post one of my outfits, and so I created the one you can see here. It comes close to what I´m wearing today and is including some pieces of my autumnwardrobe. I wear the boots nearly every day and my coat is perfect for this windy and rainy weather. It´s warm and I don´t get wet right away.

Even though (or because?) I mostly wear brown, black and grey during autumn, do I always like to add a colourful accessoire to my outfit. Smth that the eye will notice and which distracts from the dark colours.

There are no tights in the picture, but I have a huge collection of tights with different colours, patterns and materials. Sometimes do I even wear two ot three pairs at once, so I won´t get cold even if I want to wear a dress during the cold seasons.

Den siste vinter

Det er den siste vinter her i denne byen, av den jeg ikke vet om jeg elsker eller hater. Det er ikke virkelig vinter enda, men mørket kom og den kommer til å bli for en stund.

Neste vinter skal jeg ikke bo her lenger, da har det som nå er framtiden begynnt allerede. Da skal jeg studere ved en annen universitet og få en skikkelig bra mastersdegree. Kanskje får jeg studentlivet jeg fortjener i denne byen. Møter en som kan bli min.

Men først skal jeg gå gjennom mørket og snø og jul og nyttår. Jeg skal ha levende lys i vinduet og på bordet, skal drikke te med gode venninner og gå på julemarked.

Den første uken i vintersemesteret er alltid veldig travelt, den andre er det også og så kommer den tredje og da blir der kanskje bedre. Så mye som må organiseres og så mye som man må være med i. Referater som må holdes og oppgaver som må skrives... Delen av studentlivet ingen av oss liker så veldig godt, tror jeg.

Jeg forventer meg ingenting av denne vinter, kanskje får jeg en ny jobb. Men det er veldig uklart.

Tintin

As a child did I like to go into my dentists waitingroom, because there were Tintin-comics lying on the table. I always read them, to pass the time and to destract myself. Others did I get from library.
I also watched some of the comicmovies.

And now "Tintin 3D", the best 3D-movies I´ve ever seen.

No too dark screen, no effects which go lost or are done badly. It seems that the movie was especialy made for 3D and that is was taken care off not to make the same mistakes as in other productions.
Definitely better than Avatar, the mother of modern 3D-productions, and far far far better than "Alice in Wondeland".

The mimic is so well done, even the creases of Captain Haddock.

And the story is good too.
At a fleamarket, Tintin buys a model ship: "The Unicorn". The ship is stolen from his living room and he soon finds the thief, but not the ship. Shortly after he is being kidnapped from the villain and needs to travel far, even to Morocco. On his way to get there, he meets the Captain and even Madama Castafiore has her big scene.
After all, it´s not a pure childrens movie. There are some scenes, which I wouldn´t recommend for young children. It doesn´t matter whether an animated or a real actor is being "shot", I think.

The movie is by all means something for the fans of the comic, but also for people who want to see a well made 3D-movie.

Freiheit, Gleichheit, Brüderlichkeit

Auf diesen drei Schlagworten ist unser Land einmal zu einer Republik geworden. Viel scheint davon nicht übergeblieben zu sein. Ich weiß, dass das aus der französischen Geschichte kommt. Aber nicht umsonst standen diese Schlagworte früher auf der deutschen Mark.

Wir haben die Idee eines geeinten Europas an die Industrie verkauft, besser: eine kleine Elite hat dies getan und es irgendwie geschafft die verschiedenen Bürger der betroffenen Nationen zu entzweien und gegeneinander aufzuwiegeln. Ich vermute, so mancher Politiker, und auch die Lobby, hat nicht begriffen wie groß diese Idee ist und was aus ihr werden könnte - würde man sie nur, wenn auch langsam aber sicher, in die Tat umsetzen.

Aber auch auf anderer Ebene sehe ich nicht viel davon, mein altes Lieblingsthema - die Bildung. Und heute im Speziellen: Die Finanzierung dieser.
In meinem Bundesland muss jede/r Stundet/in 500€ pro Semester zahlen und dazu kommt ein unterschiedlich hoher Semesterbeitrag. Der Beitrag wird direkt für das Semesterticket, etc verwandt. Die Studiengebühren verschwinden jedoch nur zu oft in dunklen Kanälen. Wer nachfragt, bekommt entweder eine schwammige oder gar keine Antwort.

Nur zwei Bundesländer halten noch an diesen Gebühren fest, Niedersachsen und Bayern. Nun frage ich mich, wo hier die Gleichheit bleibt die jeder Bürger vor dem Gesetz hat. Frauen und Männer sind auf dem Papier gleichbrechtigt. Kinder und Erwachsene haben die gleichen (Grund-) Rechte.

Was unterscheidet nun die Studenten in Niedersachsen und Bayern von denjenigen die zum Beispiel in Hessen studieren?

Meiner Meinung nach nichts. Und vermutlich auch rechtlich nichts. Und wahrscheinlich auch menschlich nichts. Dennoch muss ich für die Bildung die ich erhalte zahlen und ich sehe von dem Geld nichts wieder. Es wird gespart, wie überall sonst auch.

Das ein Studium 500€ kostet, abgesehen von dem Beitrag, hat auch nichts mit Freiheit zu tun. Denn diese 500€ verwehren einer Menge potenzieller Studenten überhaupt nur daran zu denken sich für ein Stuidum zu bewerben.

Das man nebenbei ja arbeiten könnte, um sich diese 500€ zu verdienen, kann nur ernsthaft jemand behaupten der nicht mehr im Bachelorsystem, wie es heute ist, studiert hat.

Nur die Harten kommen so in den Garten, und das eher schlecht als recht.

Sich zu verschulden, und das meist zu unmöglichen Zinssätzen, fällt auch nicht jedem leicht. Und wer Probleme hat, dieses Geld aufzubringen, der wird auch nicht Mami und Papi bitten.

"Wann, Wo und Wie ich das will!", das fordert doch die Freiheit.

"Einer für alle und Alle für einen!", die Brüderlichkeit.

I think education and studying at a university should be free. Yes, you have to pay for things like a semesterticket (allows you to ride certain trains and/or busses in a certain area and is usually organized by the students' union executive committee). But money should not keep young people from studying at a university or their way to get there.

Today did I spend lots of money for nothing. I bought a PS1 for 15€, at a fleamarket, a game and a memory card. All together maybe 30€

The card and the game seem to work, just as the PS1 itself. But the controller doens´t really work and that´s so annoying. Because I spend my last money on this stuff and now it doesn´t work.

I know, no one uses the PS1 anymore. But I don´t care, because I think it´s fun for a little money. I am going to order another contoller online, or maybe they have some at the local electronics store. We will see.

And when I´m a little richer, am I going to buy a new PS2 and try some games I got today as well.

Until then am I annoyed.

The controller mysteriously started to work when I tried it again some time later and now can I go and raid some tombs. ;)

This morning did I post a song, sang by the norwegien band "Razika". Then did I visit my sister and we went to an electronics store where they had lots of cds. And what did I find? Their album "Program 91". I had to buy it. The store supplies me with fine norwegian music, to me it´s worth it to buy those cds. It´s a way to show my support, maybe they take in more artists then?

Here they are, my brandnew and selfmade socks. It took about two weeks to knit them and the second one was easier to knit than the first one. Because I knew how to do it of course.

- 200 g flour
- 1/2 tablespoon bakingpowder
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 25g sugar
- cinnamon if you want to

- 50 g margarine

- 1 egg
- milk

Mix all dry ingredients and the add the margarine, mix it in too. Then mix the egg and some milk, until you have about 120ml.
Add the milk to the rest, but not all. You´ll need some of it for later.

The dough should have a stiffness, which allows to coast it. Then take a usual glass and cut out circels. Put them on the bakingtray.
Coat them with the rest of the egg-milk-mixture. You will get about 10 scones out of the recipe.

220°C/10 minutes

This is the usual recipe. I never get the dough stiff, so I just put it on the tray with two spoons.

Today did I go to the Überseemuseum with my sister. The museum is in Bremen, and we went there because we wanted to see the vodou-exebition. We heard about it before we went to Stockholm.

This is a travelling exhition and all exhibits come from Haiti. A women from Switzerland, who moved to Haiti with her hatian husband, collected many items and now these original items tour in Europe.

It was really interesting to see all the sculptures and to learn what vodou actually is. It has nothing to do with man-eating zombies, but is full with magic and spirituallity.

Knitting is a very relaxing thing to do. The reason why I like it, is that I can see the progress really fast.

The first thing I ever knitted was a long scarf, I´ve used it every winter since then. And a few days ago did I start to knit my first pair of socks.
I found someone to help me with this task, since a written instruction was just too complicated to understand.

It´s a woman from Austria and she helped me a lot with her videos on YouTube.

The good thing is that I can look at the same step again and again. I will add her homepage to my linklist.

And when I´m ready with my first sock, will I upload a picture. It´s not perfect, but better then I expected so far. And if you can knit a little, you will get it very fast with elizzzas videos.

I got a new teacup and now am I drinking tea on a more regular basis. The cup has a perfect size and is so pretty. Yes, my taste is a little kitschy from time to time. ;)

I bought it at Nanu Nana and I wonder wether I should get two more, as gifts for my roomies. There are different designs, so we wouldn´t mix up.

We also spent a day in Uppsala, the fourth biggest city in Sweden. It´s about 100 km in the north of Stockholm and we took the train to get there.
We met a friend of my sister, who´s studying at the Uppsala University, and she showed us some parts of the city.

This is my little guide to Stockholm.

Where to stay

We stayed at a hostel in Kungsholmen, lodge32 that is. It´s a nice place to stay at, if you wanna sleep cheap and have no problem whith sharing a room with strangers. And it´s quite central, you can walk to the castle in maybe 20 minutes, there´s a subway station around the corner and a busstop down the street.

Just as a supermarket and a pharmacy, cafés, restaurants and other stores.

Me and my sister spent only little money for food. We cooked in the hostel every day, there are two fridges, two micro waves and one induction cooking plate.

How to get around

I will always remember Stockholm as the city where I walked everywhere. Me and my sister didn´t use a bus or the subway once, instead did we use a city map and google maps and planned how we could walk best. I wished I had taken jogging shoes instead of my vans, after some days my feet started to hurt.

But apart from that do I really recommend to walk in this city. You can get everywhere by foot and so see much more of the city, it´s people and houses.

The bus system is probably a good one, just as the subway but can´t say anything about it. Not even how much a ride is.

What to see

The day we arrived did we go to a tourist information and got some free city maps and flyers for sights and museums.

Museums

We foud out that there are some museums with free entry and decided to go there during our stay. But we only got to see the town museum and the medieval museum.

I also wanted to go to the dance museum, but all free museums are closed on mondays. I didn´t know that and so we stood in front of closed doors. My sister wanted to go the toy museum, so we went there. But it´s not recomendable, only if you like to look at a huge collection of old toys draped in cabinets. It shares premises with the electric tramway museum.

Skansen

The Skansen is a mixture between a zoo and an outdoor museum. You can see nordic animals, like bears and wolfs, and houses from all over Sweden which were rebuild in Skansen. You can enter them and see people do old handwork.

Buildings

Especially the old town has some buildings which you should see. For example the royal castle or the german church. Just wander around the narrow streets of the old town, you will find historic buildings and souvenir shops. Then there is the old town house, which is close to the hostel, and maybe the parliament.

Here can you find stores like Lindex, Cubus, Carlings, Åhlens and so on. For fans of vintage and second hand, I recomend to walk down the whole street until at the left side there is one of the Beyond Retro stores. It´s huge and I think I spent about two hours in there, until I found a wonderful red dress.
And go to Monki, in the Regeringsgatan.

A shopping mall with history, it belongs to the oldest in the country and you can find modern swedish labels in there. For example Acne or Fillipa K.

Old town

The place for souvenirs and swedish food. Many tourists around there.

Södermalm

This quarter, also simply known as Söder, is the place to be if you want to get away from the other tourists and have dinner in a more altenative part of the city. Because there are lots of restaurants, boutiques and nightlife. It´s not a very pretty quarter, but charming anyway.

Food

In Sweden do people have lunch and dinner, unlike to Germany. Here we have dinner and then lunch. There are usually special offers in restaurants.

Fika
What I like about Sweden is something that the swedish people call "fika". This is nothing obscene, like Germans often wrongly think.
It is something which could be described as "comfily having a cup of coffee and a piece of cake in a café" and it can take some hours.
In Sweden you can sit in a Café as long as you want to, and who knows, maybe you need the time to try all swedish cakes, pies, cupcakes and so on.

Stockholm: capital and largest city in Sweden

How we got there: Ryanair from Bremen for 30 €

Where we stayed: Lodge32, for 200 SEK per night

What you should do: Take a walk at night, it´s beautiful.

What you shouldn´t do: Don´t hope to find a toilet which you can use for free (only at "Max" and in museums). To have some 5 SEK and 10 SEK coins for this case is always recomended.

The cheapest and at the same time best coffee to go: At Seven Eleven, tall cup for 20 SEK

The worst coffee to go: At Max, a FastFood restaurant. Lukewarm brown broth in minicup for 10 SEK.

When I travel, do I always clean up my room before I leave the house.

My mother made me cleaning up my room when I was a child before we went on the summer vacation. Then did I not see the point and hated it, but now I know: it is just so much nicer to come back to a clean room with a made bed.

Now did I come home twice, first to my old room in parents house right after Stockholm and yesterday to my flat, which I share my two favourite roomies. But they are not here, I will have some days to myself and then the new semester will start.

Today is the day of my deadline and what can I say? I finished everything yesterday and turned in the papers via email. I hope that is ok, if not will I have to print them out and make a little trip to the University.

Yesterday did I take part in a conference of the senate of the university. Me and some other students went there to show our support to the collegiate members. We try to bring the compulsory attendance to an end and everything is oh so political...

In the end did we get to a compromise, but I don´t think it is a good one. There is a gap in the wording and it might become complicated.

I just came home again. Been home for the weekend, to see the family. Things there became tough again.

The deadline is coming closer and I will have to work on my assignments a good deal for the next days.

I have a lot of things in my shelves, not only books

Today do I want to show some pictures from my room.

I believe it totally expresses who I am. I find very interesting to go home to people and to look at there rooms. Often it shows more of their character then what they show you from themselves during the first time you know them.

Do they collect something? What is it that they collect? What kind of pictures or posters are on the wall and what does the dvdcollection offer? Tidy or not? And so on...

I collect different things. Cups, things with little geishas on them and matryoshkadolls. Most pictures in my room are either painted by me or collages I made. There are two posters who promote concerts I went to and photographs on the desk.

Most of my dvds are from Disney, Miss Marple adaptions, french movies, norwegian movies or old german comedies. Some are more independet and others are blockbusters. I have all Harry Potter movies and some series, like SatC and some seasons of "The Nanny".

I have very few cds, most are still at home, in my old room in my parent´s house, because I digitized most of them.

Usually my clothes are lying around, on the sofa and a chair. When I have visitors I hide them in my suitcase or my huge backpack.

I work in my room when it comes to university and you can see the collection of all my smart books in the shelf by the desk. The others are kept in the shelf by the bed.

A cool thing is that my room is divided into two party by a wall, the is no door in the frame. So in the first parst I have my desk, my sofa, my tv, my dresser. And in the second part there is my bed and the shelv with my more personal things.

Right now do I have a lot of free time. I´m still writing my assignment, and I think I get on with it quiet well. It took me sooo much time to figure out what I should write about, but now am I pretty sure what I wanna do.

It is about a book of the german philosopher Karl Jaspers, we read this book in the seminar and now did I choose to write about his understanding of the term "mass", he uses it to describe the society and how it works. Well, it´s much more complicated.

Alltogether is it the most boring book I´ve ever read. It was written in 1931, and then people had a different way to write and express themselves. He also uses a lot of terms in a different understanding, so it´s difficult to understand what he actually means. But I chose an easy chapter, or so I hope. Really could use a good mark for it.

But beside doing this am I pretty bored. I use maybe an hour per day for the assignment and the rest of the day is spent with watching tv or movies. I just watched the first 4 seasons of "The Big Bang Theory" and I enjoyed it a lot. Can only repeat myself and say that it is the best what happened to tv entertainment in a long time.

I´m so excited and looking forward to my trip to Stockholm.

And I think a lot about moving out of this flat. It´s nice to live together with my two wonderfull roomies, but the house is very old and sometimes narrow. The kitchen frustrates me and I want a room with large windows where all my stuff actually fits in.
But it´ll stay an idea, since I´ll get my bachelordegree next summer and then will I leave this flat anyway.
